I think I've started every post explaining how busy I am and why Im so behind in blogging. So are you ready for my excuse this time? Yep you guessed it...I've been so busy! School has officially taken over my life. Blogging is the last thing on my list of things to-do behind my husband, family, homework, clinicals, work, treatments, and my weekends. Things are finally slowing down a little so I'm going to try my best to catch up! Which starts with mine and Brad's weekend in Steamboat! Yes I realize that Presidents Day weekend was ages ago...I'm a horrible blogger haha.
I know I say it all the time, but we are so blessed with the loving people we have in our lives! The Bright family that I was a nanny for in New Jersey invited Brad and I to spend Presidents Day weekend with them at the most beautiful resort called Steamboat Springs in Colorado.
On just a side note...I had gone with them to Steamboat while Brad and I had just started dating, Brad and I were at a hard time in our relationship deciding what we wanted to do about staying together since I just left him to go to New Jersey. Brad surprised me and him and Danny drove 8 hours just to spend a day with me in Steamboat...it was a huge turning point in our relationship. I never thought that Darin and Diane would be okay with two strange boys staying with their family and I never thought Brad would do something like that for me. So I guess you could say Steamboat is special to Brad and I. It wouldn't have been possible without the Bright family either. (If you haven't read our story yet you can read it here!)
When the Brights had invited us to come we were shocked because we never thought we'd have the opportunity to see them again...especially in Steamboat! There was no way we could turn down the offer! I remember being so nervous the morning I first saw Hayden and Griffin. I was so scared they wouldn't remember me or that it would take them the whole trip just to warm up to me. I was almost brought to tears the second I saw them. They both ran to me and gave me a huge hug...we hadn't skipped a beat. The whole weekend was beyond words to describe. The whole time we kept asking ourselves if it was real, especially me because I left those boys not knowing if I'd ever see them again! We went snowboarding/skiing everyday we were there...Darin and Diane didn't allow us to hardly pay for anything. I don't know how we'll ever repay them. Brad and I planned on leaving early Monday morning because we had a lot of homework to do...then we woke up that morning and saw that it had snow well over 12 inches so of course we stayed. It was amazing to say the least.
Thank you Darin, Diane, Hayden, and Griffin! We had so much fun and we can't wait to see you guys again!! Love you!
