Sweden 12/29

Brad and I flew into the Copenhagen airport in Denmark on Saturday December 29.  Aurelie and Michael Palomaki picked us up with there adorable little daughter Victoria.  The moment we saw them it didn't seem real.  I had met Michael because he came to our wedding, but this was my first time meeting Aurelie and it was as if I already knew her because Brad had told me so many things.  Just to start off with...they are one amazing family.
They were both so excited to see us, and Brad especially.  This was the first time Brad had seen Aurelie since his mission.  She was just so happy to have both of her missionaries there with her!  I felt lucky to be apart of their lives through the week that we were there.
We took the train back to their house and it took about 45 minutes or so.  It dropped us off literally right at their house.  It was very convenient.  The first real view I got of Sweden was this...

This is the cute little village that they live in.  I have never ever seen anything like it!  I was in awe the whole time we walked through it!  On the bottom of some are little shops and then on top is apartments!

We got there at about one in the afternoon, and Brad and I were so tired.  We had been traveling for over 24 hours but they made sure to do their best and keep us awake so we could sleep that night and hopefully not get too jet lagged.  It was fun to just hang out for a bit when we first got there!  We brought them some stuff from the states and they got us right in to tasting food and living like a Swedish person.
Victoria loved Brad right from the beginning
They are officially Utah State fans now...they wanted to be BYU but we didn't allow
it!
Swedish candy and Julmust (christmas drink)...Brad was obsessed
Michael took us to a place called Rhodos to eat a derum.  Brad had been craving these!

Then we went to one of their friends house.  they have a sauna in their house and it's really popular in Finland and kind of in Sweden!  WE would sit in there for as long as we could then run outside and sift for as long as we could!  We did it about 4 or 5 times.  It was lots of fun!

Brad and I fell asleep as soon as we got in the car to head back to the Palomaki's.  Exhausted was an understatement.  We fell asleep around 9pm that night and woke up around 9am the next morning.  The only reason we woke up was because they woke us up...or I'm sure we would have slept all day.  It was a perfect start to our adventure! :)
